Room to grow, and growing fast

Big land, big logistics, and a survey behind all of it

Two things drive the mapping work up here: rooftops and warehouses. St. Johns County has been home to Nocatee, one of the best-selling master-planned communities in the country, while the port and the interstate corridors keep pulling in massive distribution projects. Both start the same way, with a raw tract that needs an accurate survey before anyone designs a road or a pad.

We capture what that design needs. An RTK or PPK workflow over ground control keeps the map, the model, and the cloud on the same real coordinates. On the wooded and wetland-edged parcels that cover so much of Northeast Florida, LiDAR reaches the ground through the pine and palmetto that a photo map reads as solid canopy.

It comes back in your file types and opens right up in CAD or GIS. From a single infill lot near downtown to a several-hundred-acre logistics tract off I-95, the capture is built around what your engineers design on.

What We Capture

Mapping products for Northeast Florida engineers

We size the sensor and workflow to the job, from a quick map to survey-grade output.

Drone LiDAR & point clouds

Dense 3D clouds that reach the ground through pine and palmetto, for topos and civil design.

Orthomosaic mapping

Stitched, measurable orthos of the site for plans and documentation.

Topos & drainage

Terrain and surface models with contours, tied to control for engineering use.

3D models & volumes

3D models and earthwork volumes measured out of the data.

Logistics & large tracts

Recurring flights that track earthwork across a distribution or community build with real numbers.

CAD / GIS-ready files

LAS, GeoTIFF, DXF, and contour files that load straight into your tools.

FAQ

Jacksonville drone mapping questions

What engineers, surveyors, and developers on the First Coast ask us most.

Why does mapping matter on these big Jacksonville tracts?

Because the projects are large and start from raw ground. A Nocatee-scale community or a port-driven distribution tract needs an accurate survey before a single road or pad is designed, and on land this size guesswork gets expensive fast. A measured surface gives your civil team something real to design against.

Does LiDAR help with the woods and wetlands here?

A lot. Northeast Florida runs to pine, palmetto, and wetland edge, and LiDAR pulses reach the actual ground between the trees, so you get real ground where photogrammetry would only see the treetops. On wooded tracts it’s usually the right call.

How accurate is the data for civil design?

Survey grade when required. Ground control and an RTK or PPK workflow lock the data to real coordinates across every output. Planning-grade jobs we can scope down.

Can you fly sites near JAX and the Navy fields?

Yes. Jacksonville International’s Class C airspace and the military airspace along the river cover part of the area, so we clear the authorization before the flight and schedule around the crews on an active site.

What formats do you deliver?

The ones your team runs: point clouds in LAS or LAZ, orthomosaics as GeoTIFF, surface and terrain models, contour files, and DXF or CAD-ready exports. Name the software and it drops in clean.
