Survey-grade drone mapping for Tampa Bay sites
Drone LiDAR, orthomosaic mapping, and 3D documentation across Tampa, Clearwater, and the surrounding counties. Dense point clouds, topos, and volumes on real coordinates, in the file types your survey and civil teams already use.
Flat ground still has to be measured
Tampa terrain fools people. A parcel off I-75 can look dead level and still carry the few inches of grade that decide whether a site drains or floods, which around here is the whole ballgame. You can’t design that from a photo. You need a surface you can pull real elevations and contours from.
That’s what we capture. Ground control and RTK or PPK workflows tie the data to real coordinates, so the map, the terrain model, and the point cloud all agree with the ground and with each other. On the wet, vegetated sites that cover so much of Hillsborough and Pasco, LiDAR earns its place: the pulses reach the dirt through the brush and mangrove edges that a photo map would read as solid canopy.
Then we hand it back in your formats, so it drops into your CAD or GIS instead of sitting in a viewer nobody opens. From a single infill lot near downtown to a corridor stretching out past Brandon, the capture is scoped to what your engineers actually have to design on.

Mapping products for Tampa engineers and builders
Sensor and workflow are chosen around the deliverable, from a fast planning map to a survey-grade set.
Drone LiDAR & point clouds
Dense point clouds that punch through Florida brush to the real ground, for topos and design.
Orthomosaic mapping
Geo-referenced, measurable site imagery, stitched for plans and records.
Topos & drainage
Terrain and surface models with contours, the grade detail that matters on flat, flood-prone ground.
3D models & volumes
3D site models, plus cut, fill, and stockpile volumes off the data.
Progress & earthwork
Recurring flights that track dirt and grading across a Tampa build with numbers, not guesses.
CAD / GIS-ready files
LAS, GeoTIFF, DXF, and contours that open clean in your software.
The bay’s builders, surveyors, and civil teams
- Civil engineers designing drainage and grading on real terrain.
- Surveyors extending their reach with controlled aerial capture.
- Contractors tracking earthwork on Midtown and suburban builds.
- Developers scoping raw parcels out toward Pasco and east Hillsborough.
- Port & industrial sites documenting large, sprawling footprints.
- Architects starting from an accurate 3D of existing conditions.

Tampa drone mapping questions
What engineers, surveyors, and developers in Tampa Bay ask us most.
Does LiDAR help on Tampa's flat, wet sites?
It helps a lot. Flat doesn’t mean simple around the bay: a site can read as one elevation on a map and still hold the inches of fall that decide where stormwater goes. LiDAR measures the ground precisely, and its pulses reach dirt through the palmetto, mangrove edges, and brush that cover a lot of Hillsborough and Pasco parcels, where a photo map would only see the canopy.
How accurate is the data for engineering?
Survey grade when you need it. Ground control plus an RTK or PPK workflow ties everything to real coordinates, so the ortho, the terrain model, and the cloud line up. For a Water Street-scale civil package that accuracy matters; for a rough planning look we can scope it lighter.
Can you handle the airspace over a Tampa job site?
Yes, and downtown and Westshore sites need it. Much of the urban core sits under Tampa International’s Class B airspace, so we clear the authorization before the flight. On an active site we also schedule around the crews so the mapping flight doesn’t slow the work.
What formats do you deliver into?
The ones your team already runs: point clouds in LAS or LAZ, orthomosaics as GeoTIFF, DSM and DTM surfaces, contours, and DXF for CAD. Name your platform and it lands ready to open.
Can you track earthwork and volumes over a build?
Yes. On the developments going up around Midtown and the suburbs, we fly a site on a schedule and measure cut, fill, and stockpile volumes from the data, so you’re tracking dirt with numbers instead of estimates.
